Privacy statement
Summary
Your records stay with your agency. The app keeps everything in a database file in a folder your agency chooses — on the computer or on your agency's network. Your records are never sent to the publisher or to anyone else. The app contains no advertising, analytics, tracking or crash reporting.
What the app stores
- Officer details your agency enters: names, badge numbers, ranks, divisions and email addresses.
- Weapons (make, model, caliber, serial number, assignment, inspections), courses of fire, qualification scores, Taser training results, practice and combat sessions, and ammunition and Taser cartridge inventory.
- User accounts: names, user names and passwords stored only as one-way hashes (never the passwords themselves), plus an activity log of sign-ins and changes with the user and computer name.
- Settings such as the agency name, front-page picture and certificate wording.
Where it is stored
In the file FirearmsQual.db in the data folder shown in the app, with certificate PDFs and backups beside it. Each computer also keeps a small settings file (which folder to use) and the Windows web component's cache in the user's own profile. The publisher has no copy of, and no access to, any of it.
What leaves your computer
- Your records never leave your computer or network. The app does not send them anywhere.
- Microsoft Store version only: the app asks the Microsoft Store whether your agency's subscription is active, and purchases are made in the Microsoft Store window. Only the subscription status is exchanged with Microsoft — no records.
- Email certificate opens a draft in your own email program (for example Microsoft Outlook) with the certificate attached. Nothing is sent until you click Send, and it goes through your agency's email, not the publisher.
- Printing goes to the printer you choose.
Your agency's responsibilities
Your agency decides what is recorded, who can sign in, and how long records are kept, and is responsible for protecting the computers and folders that hold the database and for backing it up. Individuals who want to see or correct their records should contact their agency.
Microsoft Store
If you installed the app from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft handles the download, updates, the subscription and its payments under Microsoft's own privacy statement. The publisher never sees payment details. The publisher receives only the anonymous, aggregated install and crash statistics Microsoft provides to all Store publishers.
Children
The app is intended for law enforcement agencies and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this statement changes, the new version will appear in the app with a new date.
